For this tutorial, make a new Photoshop Document with 230 width and 245 height and then create a linear gradient. First of all we're going to create the bottom section of the Dalek. So, choose the polygonal lasso tool and make a shape, like the one shown in image b), with a dark grey color.

Next we're going to create some panels, using the polygonal lasso tool. Create the first two panels as shown in the images below.
